Today is one of those rare occasions where one of my short stories has been published where it can be read for free, and on the same day that I write my weekly blog!
Am I using it as an excuse to not write a blog? Maybe.
But I also love sharing my work as far and as wide as I can, so yeah, I’m gonna take the opportunity!
“Visitors,” published on June 29th, 2026 my Flash Fiction Magazine, is my most overtly political (published) short story, and is especially timely.
It is also my most experimental published short story, told entirely through talk show and news report dialogue.

“Breaking news, here: reports are coming in that a—yes, a craft of unknown make is hovering over the state Capitol building. Eye-witnesses are describing the object as saucer-shaped, which has inevitably led to speculation that it is extraterrestrial in nature. So far, it has made no aggressive moves, and indeed, has not moved at all since it first appeared, seemingly out of thin air, twenty minutes ago.
“Amy Perez is on location. Amy, can you tell us about any new developments?”
