Hello all!
I’m keeping it short this week and trying something I’ve never done on this blog before: putting out a call for your book recommendations!
I’m currently working on the outline for my third novel–this one a cosmic horror set in NorCal (in a fictionalized version of the town I grew up in) in the late 1950’s. Cosmic horror is one of my favorite genres to read and watch, and while I’ve gotten into some decent film examples of the genre, finding modern cosmic horror books is proving somewhat more difficult.
I just started reading The Fisherman by John Langan, and I was hoping some of you may have more titles to offer.
I am specifically looking for stories that include elements like cults, the ancient beings they worship, isolation (in a similar vein to Silent Hill), factionalization of characters, and really anything else you might think I would find helpful or interesting as I write my first cosmic horror novel.
Please leave your recommendations in the comments and thank you in advance!
